On September 22nd and 23th the RKD organized an Iconclass Expert Meeting for an international group of dedicated (key) users and other interested parties.
Some 26 specialists, most of them familiar with annotating image collections with iconclass, had the opportunity to meet each other and learn of new and ongoing projects. The RKD was represented by organizer Reem Weda and Reinier van ‘t Zelfde. Of course, longtime dedicated users and developers of the system, Hans Brandhorst and Etienne Posthumus, also attended. They explained the further direction they have in mind for the system. RKD director Chris Stolwijk, welcomed the participants and informed them of the status of Iconclass at the RKD.

The successful meeting resulted in new contacts and renewed motivation to stimulate usage of iconclass and the intention to foster an Iconclass editorial group.
